Tax Reports for Owners and Vendors

Owner 1099 Reports

You can find the Owner 1099 reports under the Accounting category of the Reports page. You can generate the following Owner 1099 reports:

  • Owner 1099: Summarizes annual payments by owner.

    • Parameters: Company (multi-select, default none selected), Year (last year only), Minimum Amount (default 600), Payer's Federal Tax ID, Separate By Owner Contact (Yes/No, default Yes).

  • Owner 1099 - MISC (2 per page): Standard form for miscellaneous payments.

    • Parameters: Company (multi-select, default none selected), Year (only shows the most recent year as an option), Minimum Amount (default 600), Payer's Federal Tax ID, Separate By Owner Contact (Yes/No, default Yes) Building (multi-select, default all buildings selected).

  • Owner 1099 - MISC [eFile]: Detailed report formatted for electronic filing with IRS.

    • Parameters: Company (multi-select, default none selected), Year (only shows the most recent year as an option), Minimum Amount (default 600), Payer's Federal Tax ID, Separate By Owner Contact (Yes/No, default Yes) Building (multi-select, default all buildings selected), Payer TIN Type, Payer Name Type, Recipient TIN Type.

  • Owner 1099 - NEC (3 per page): Standard form specifically for nonemployee compensation.

    • Parameters: Company (multi-select, default none selected), Year (only shows the most recent year as an option), Minimum Amount (default 600), Payer's Federal Tax ID, Separate By Owner Contact (Yes/No, default Yes) Building (multi-select, default all buildings selected).

  • Owner 1099 - NEC [eFile]: Detailed NEC form formatted for electronic filing.

    • Parameters: Company (multi-select, default none selected), Year (only shows the most recent year as an option), Minimum Amount (default 600), Payer's Federal Tax ID, Separate By Owner Contact (Yes/No, default Yes) Building (multi-select, default all buildings selected), Payer TIN Type, Payer Name Type, Recipient TIN Type.

  • Owner 1099 Summary: Summarizes total payments within a specific date range.

    • Parameters: Start Date, End Date, Company (multi-select, default all selected), Minimum Amount (default 600), Receives 1099 (default Yes, options Yes/No).

When to use MISC vs. NEC:

  • 1099-NEC: Use for reporting nonemployee compensation (services provided by independent contractors).

  • 1099-MISC: Use for reporting rents, royalties, and other miscellaneous payments not classified as nonemployee compensation.

Vendor 1099 Reports

You can find the Vendor 1099 reports under the Vendor category. Available Vendor 1099 reports:

  • Form 1099: General summary.

    • Parameters: Company (multi-select, default none selected), Vendor (multi-select, default none selected), Payer's Federal Tax ID, 1099 Form Year, Start Date, End Date, Account (multi-select, default none selected), Min. Amount.

  • Form 1099 (2 per page): Same as Form 1099, but showing 2 vendors per page.

    • Parameters: Company (multi-select, default none selected), Vendor (multi-select, default none selected), Payer's Federal Tax ID, 1099 Form Year, Start Date, End Date, Account (multi-select, default none selected), Min. Amount

  • Form 1099 - MISC [eFile]: Detailed electronic filing version for miscellaneous payments.

    • Parameters: Company (multi-select, default none selected), Vendor (multi-select, default none selected), Payer's Federal Tax ID, Min. Amount, 1099 Form Year, Account (multi-select, default none selected), Payer TIN Type, Payer Name Type, Recipient Name Type, Recipient TIN Type, Start Date, End Date.

  • Form 1099 - NEC: For nonemployee compensation.

    • Parameters: Company (multi-select, default none selected), Vendor (multi-select, default none selected), Payer's Federal Tax ID, 1099 Form Year, Start Date, End Date, Account (multi-select, default none selected), Min. Amount, Vendor collecting management fees (single-select).

  • Form 1099 - NEC (3 per page): Printable version.

    • Parameters: Company (multi-select, default none selected), Vendor (multi-select, default none selected), Payer's Federal Tax ID, 1099 Form Year, Start Date, End Date, Account (multi-select, default none selected), Min. Amount, Vendor collecting management fees (single-select).

  • Form 1099 - NEC [eFile]: Electronic filing version for nonemployee compensation.

    • Parameters: Company (multi-select, default none selected), Vendor (multi-select, default none selected), Payer's Federal Tax ID, Min. Amount, 1099 Form Year, Vendor collecting management fees (single-select), Account (multi-select, default none selected), Payer TIN Type, Payer Name Type, Recipient Name Type, Recipient TIN Type, Start Date, End Date.

  • Form 1096: Annual summary of 1099 forms sent to vendors.

    • Parameters: Start Date, End Date, Company (single-select, default none selected), Vendor (multi-select, default none selected), Min Amount, Receives 1099, Employer's ID Number, Form Type (e.g., 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC).
