Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Accessing Management Fees

  1. Navigate to the Settings menu.

  2. Select Fee Structures.

Step 2: Adding a New Management Fee Structure

  1. Click the New Fee Structure button in the upper-right corner to create a new fee structure.

  2. Enter a descriptive Fee structure name for your fee structure.

  3. From the Fee Category dropdown menu, choose Management Fee.

Note: If you need to create Late Fees, refer to the article "Adding and Editing Late Fees".

Step 3: Adding Fees to the Structure

  • Each fee structure can include multiple fee items. For example, you might charge a 7% fee on rent payments and a flat $20 fee for late payments. Each of these would be a separate fee within the same structure.

  1. To add fees to your structure, click the 3-dot menu located to the right of the fee structure name, then Add Item.

  2. To edit an existing fee, click the 3-dot menu on the right side of the fee item, then Edit.

Step 4: Configuring Fee Details

  • In the Edit Fee Structure Item screen, set the following:

    • Fee Method: Determines how the fee amount is calculated.

    • Flat Fee Amount/Percentage Fee Amount: Enter the fee value(s). If you do not wish to use one type of amount, leave the field blank.

    • Income and Expense Items: Select appropriate income and expense categories (default categories "Management Fee Income" and "Management Fee Expense" can be used if custom items aren't available).

    • Charge fee on: Use this dropdown to select whether the fee applies to all items, includes specific items, or excludes specific items.

Step 5: Selecting Transaction Items

  • If you're including or excluding specific items, you'll see a checklist of available transaction items. Select the items that apply.

Note: To add new transaction items, refer to the article "How to Create a Tenant Invoice".

Step 6: Saving Your Changes

  • After adding or editing your fees, click Submit.

  • Once all fees are configured, click Save at the bottom of the Fee Structure.

Post Script:
To assign fee structures to different buildings, refer to "Adding, Editing, and Deleting Management Profiles."
