How to manage Section 8 payments

To manage section 8 payments for a tenant, create and apply a credit note schedule.

Navigate to the lease details, and got to Lease > Future > New Schedule to create a new transaction schedule.

Fill out the transaction schedule, making sure to select Credit Note as the transaction type.

Once created, the credit note schedule will be visible under the Future tab.

It's important to have an automatic action in place to ensure the credit is applied to the invoice automatically. This automatic action is created by default for new accounts. Verify it is present by going to Settings > Automatic Actions. If the automatic action is not present, you can create it with the below settings:

This automatic action will automatically apply the Section 8 credits to all outstanding invoices. This automation is beneficial especially if the tenant uses autopay, ensuring all credits are applied before the tenant is billed.
