How to Use the Global Search Bar

The main search bars located on your Dashboard, Properties, and Accounting pages are powerful global search tools. This means they allow you to search for information across four different record types from a single place.

You can use the global search bar to find the following records:

  • Buildings

  • Units

  • Entities (such as tenants, vendors, or owners)

  • Attachments

Searchable Fields by Record Type

To help you find exactly what you're looking for, the search tool looks through specific fields for each record type. Here is a detailed breakdown of what you can search for:

Building

  • Name

  • Display address

  • Custom field values

Unit

  • Name

  • Display address

  • Custom field values

Entity

  • Name (first name, last name, company name)

  • Leased unit names

  • Leased building custom field values

  • Lease custom field values

  • Email addresses

  • Phone numbers

  • Bill document numbers

  • Custom field values

  • Transaction custom field values

  • Check numbers

  • Invoice numbers

  • Address

Attachment

  • File name

  • PDF metadata (including title, author, and the text content of the PDF)
