Viewing Your Assigned SMS Number
Each Property Matrix license has a dedicated phone number for SMS messages.
Click the dropdown menu under your profile.
Click Settings.
Select Company Information.
Scroll to the Text Messages section to view your assigned number.
How Calls to This Number Work
If someone calls your assigned SMS number, the call will automatically forward to your company phone number listed under Details in Company Information.
Changing Your SMS Number
You may generate a new number once per month.
Go to Settings > Company Information.
In the Text Messages section, click the dropdown menu.
Select Request New Number.
Optionally, enter an area code to try generating a number with that code.
Click Generate New Number.
Click Save.
If the requested area code is unavailable, a random U.S. number will be assigned.
Sending SMS Messages
You can send SMS messages from several places:
Inbox: Click the Inbox icon in the sidebar.
Bulk messaging: Go to the Tenants page and click Send.
Individual tenant messages: Open a tenant record, click the Messages tab, then click Compose.
When sending a message, choose whether to send an email or text message. You can control recipients and message content before sending.
Each recipient receives an individual message. Property Matrix does not currently support group SMS messages.
Valid phone numbers include North American numbers that can receive SMS messages.
How the System Handles Messages
All managers send messages from the same assigned phone number for the license.
In the Messages tab, each sent message displays the name of the manager who sent it, but the recipient sees the same shared number. The recipient cannot see which manager sent the message unless you identify yourself in the text.
Conversations are tied to the recipient’s phone number.
Receiving SMS Messages
Incoming messages appear in the appropriate conversation in the Messages tab.
Conversations update in real time, so no refresh is needed. Only messages sent to your assigned SMS number will appear.
Handling Number Changes
If a person’s phone number changes, messages to the new number will create a new conversation.
The old conversation will remain viewable, but you cannot send messages through it if the number is no longer tied to that person.
Deleting Conversations
In the Messages tab, click the dropdown menu for the conversation.
Select Delete Conversation.
Deleting a conversation permanently deletes all SMS messages in it. Deleted conversations cannot be recovered.
