This guide explains how to send documents to your tenants for electronic signature and how to sign them yourself.
Before You Begin: Create Your Document
Before you can send a document, you must first create it as a form in the system. If you haven't done this yet, please follow the instructions in our How to Create and Upload Documents (Forms) support article.
Method 1: Adding Documents When Creating a New Lease
You can easily attach documents while you are setting up a new tenant and their lease.
Begin the process of creating a new lease for your tenant.
On the second page of the "New Lease" window, you will see a section for documents.
Check the box next to each document template you want to send with this lease.
If a document contains dynamic fields (e.g., fields for a move-in date or a specific rent amount), you can fill them in right here.
Once you complete the lease creation process, the selected documents will be automatically emailed to the tenant for their review and signature.
Method 2: Adding Documents to an Existing Lease
You can also send new documents to tenants who already have an active lease.
Navigate to the Lease tab of the tenant you want to send a document to.
In the lease details view, find and click the Documents link, usually located on the bottom left.
A dialog box will appear, showing any documents that are currently pending or already completed for this lease.
Click the New Document button at the top.
Select the document you wish to send, fill out any required dynamic fields, and click Create.
Note: The document will be automatically emailed to the tenant as soon as you create it.
Tracking Document Status
After sending a document, you can track its status (e.g., "Pending" or "Completed") from the Documents section of the tenant's lease.
The Tenant's Signing Experience
Your tenant will receive an email containing a secure link and an access code to view the document.
When they click the link, they will be guided step-by-step through the document to each field they need to initial or sign.
How to Sign Documents as the Property Manager
When a document requires your signature, the system makes it easy to complete.
After you send a document that you also need to sign, a notification will appear on the bell icon at the top right of your homepage.
Click on the notification to go directly to the signing page.
βYou will be taken to a page similar to the tenant's view, which will guide you to the locations where your signature is required.
