Seeing your Charges

The four types of additional charges (TransUnion Charges, ProPay ACH Return Charges, ProPay Chargeback Charges, and ProPay ACH Portal Fee Charges) are displayed on the Settings > Billing Details page, and the Subscription tab.

To navigate to the Settings > Billing Details > Subscriptions tab, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Settings page by clicking on your profile icon on the top-right corner of the page, and clicking on Settings.

  2. Click on the Billing Details panel on the left sidebar.

  3. Click on the Subscription tab.

  4. Scroll down to see the additional charges (if any).

  5. If there are any ProPay ACH Portal Fee Charges for the selected month, they will appear in a separate section.

  6. To view your billing history for previous months, use the dropdown to select the month you wish to see.

Types of Charges

On top of your base subscription payment, there are three different types of additional charges that can occur on an account:

  • TransUnion Charges

  • ProPay ACH Return Charges

  • ProPay Chargeback Charges

  • ProPay ACH Portal Fee Charges

TransUnion Charges

The TransUnion Charges are the costs associated with running reports, depending on your account and plan. This will show each report that is run and for which lead it is run for, along with the cost of that report. You can set application fees to offset these costs via Settings > Tenant Applications.

ProPay Chargeback Charges

Chargeback charges occur when a tenant makes a payment and later disputes it (e.g., telling their bank that it was fraud or unauthorized). Property Matrix can assist in managing these disputes, and we can submit this dispute on your behalf. Reach out to us if you would like to pursue that option.

ProPay ACH Return Charges

ProPay ACH Return Charges occur when an ACH payment bounces for various reasons such as insufficient funds or account errors. There is a $5 fee for each ACH returns.

ProPay ACH Portal Fee Charges

ProPay ACH Portal Fee Charges apply when a client’s account is configured to have the ACH portal fee charged to the property management company instead of the tenant. By default, tenants are responsible for this fee, so the charge only occurs if the setting has been manually switched. The fee when charged to the property management company is $1 per ACH payment, and this section displays the total amount broken down by building.
